Mental Health and Us

Danny Brown & Jaclyn Brown

Jaclyn Brown was diagnosed with both depression and anxiety while at university. Her husband, Danny, was diagnosed with depression later in life. Together, they want to help you with your mental health journey. In Mental Health and Us, Jaclyn and Danny share what it's like to live with mental illness as an ever-present occupant in their everyday lives. From challenges living as a couple, to parenting two young kids, one of which was also diagnosed with anxiety when he was just eight years old. They'll also talk with fellow mental health sufferers about their journey, and some of the coping mechanisms they use to best manage their own circumstances. Each episode will be an open, honest discussion about mental illness, and why it's okay to not be okay. We don't have to struggle alone. We are in this together. Let's talk about it. How a Major Health Scare Made Me Fear the Worst
In this week's show, I want to talk about my recent health scare, which I touched upon in my last episode where I talked about my weight loss journey. After the 8-week period was over, I took a little break to celebrate. While I wasn't exercising, I did continue with my smoothies, etc. However, following a dinner I had the evening after finishing the challenge, I took a turn for the worse. It felt as though I was having a heart attack. I'd had a similar problem last year, but this felt a little different. No matter what I did, I just couldn't shake the severe pain that I was in.In this week's show, I share what happened, the various things I went through, and why it's important to be aware of this, as your physical health is important to your mental health. For more resources, please visit the Mental Health and Me website, where you'll find practical self-care and wellness tips to help other mental health sufferers and their loved ones cope. You can also connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.Let's keep the conversation going.#mentalhealth #depression #anxiety #endthestigma Support Mental Health and Me:Listen and leave a review on iTunes   Listen and leave a review on Google Podcasts   Listen on Spotify   Support with a donationMentioned on today's show:8 week health and fitness planFinding a positive mindset to a healthier lifeMy equipment:Blue Snowball iCE Condenser MicOn Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Mic StandDragonpad Pop FilterWtxqCkjdJtkzD41J4IYQThis podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podder - https://www.podderapp.com/privacy-policy
